This year, we’re excited to bring you something special—our first coffee from Mohammed Aba Nura. His 35.7-hectare farm sits high up in Omafuntulay, Jimma, where he grows some of the best coffee we’ve tasted out of Ethiopia. Mohammed is part of the Tokuma Group, a collective of smallholder farmers dedicated to transforming Ethiopian coffee. This natural process coffee is something else—full of floral notes, honeydew melon, caramelized stone fruit, and a sweetness that reminds us of berry pie.
The coffee comes from the JARC 74110 variety, grown at elevations ranging from 2,000 to 2,100 MASL. It’s dried on raised beds for about 20 days, and the result is a cup that’s as complex as it is clean.
While this is our first time working with Mohammed, our importer, Osito Coffee, has been partnering with him for three years. They’ve watched him grow, evolve, and consistently deliver standout coffees. We’re thrilled to be a part of his journey now, and we think you’ll feel the same when you taste what he’s been working on.
Special thanks to David Stallings of Osito for providing the pictures and information about Mohammed.
