San Pedro de Ocopetatillo is the latest on deck for Resident. Sourced from the Sierra Mazateca, this coffee comes from 25 small producers in the highlands of Oaxaca. The village of San Pedro Ocopetatillo is remote, and most of the 1,000 people who live there still speak Mazatec. Coffee here is a lifeline, grown across steep, terraced plots at 1,600 meters.
The farmers in this community take pride in their small lots. Each lot is treated like a family recipe—carefully tended, harvested by hand, and processed with precision. The result? A washed coffee with Typica, Bourbon, Mundo Novo, and Caturra varieties, offering bright, clean notes. Expect subtle citrus, chocolate, complex layered sugars, and a hint of something floral.
It's been a challenging few years for Oaxacan producers with volatile prices, limited infrastructure, and labor shortages, but this group is pushing through it all. This micro-lot represents that resilience and the spirit of Oaxaca’s coffee-growing communities.
We’re excited to share it with you.
