Another coffee from the Corsi brothers, and this one is VERY different.
Fazendas Rodomunho sits in Tapira, Brazil, where brothers Renato, Thiago, and Rodrigo Corsi are the fourth generation of their family to grow coffee. After the Black Frost of 1975 pushed the family to relocate their production, they established themselves in Cerrado Mineiro, where they continue growing specialty coffees today.
This lot is Gesha, grown from seed originally developed in El Salvador. After mechanical harvesting, the coffee is carefully sorted for ripe cherries only before being placed into sealed tanks inside a dark, cool warehouse for 70 hours of anaerobic fermentation.
From there, the cherries stay inside that same controlled environment to dry slowly for roughly 45 days, eventually reaching around 11% moisture.
That long, slow process creates something really special. This coffee is floral, sweet, and incredibly fruit-forward, with tons of red fruit and citrus character while still feeling soft and balanced in the cup.
It’s a really fun look at what Gesha can taste like coming out of Brazil, and an even better look at just how much range the Corsi family is producing from the same farm.
Big thanks to the Corsi family for sharing another incredible coffee with us.
